The project of the Parc Maisonneuve was not exactly planned this way. The current Parc Maisonneuve is a reduced version of the original. It had led the way to the Olympic infrastructures and lost a part of its golf course. However, the park still offers a nice big green area. A nine-hole golf course, cycling and walking trails allow you to crisscross the park. In winter, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skating are options in the park.
Along with the Olympic Stadium and the Botanical Gardens, it is a nice public place for a picnic in summer.
It is named after the founder of Ville-Marie, Paul de Chomedey, Sieur de Maisonneuve, the same person who has his dedicated monument in the Old Montreal Place D’Armes.
