Ottawa – Royal Canadian Mint

Show me the money!

320 Sussex drive

This building with a square tower on Sussex Street does not go unnoticed. Its style gives the appearance of a medieval fortress protected by a dragon. Built from 1905 to 1908, it is the place of production of the Canadian currency, gold bars, medals, and medallions are given to the deserving honored in Ottawa as well as the administration of the place. Access is, for good cause, well supervised with a guard post and the space is fenced in. You can take a guided tour to get a closer look.
