Montreal – Place du Frère Andre

Father Andre, Alfred Bessette (1845-1937), was the man behind the construction of the imposing Saint-Joseph Oratory. A special simple square with his standing statue is in downtown Montreal at the corner of Rene-Levesque Boulevard West and Place Phillips.

He was attributed healing miracles and more about him can be learned at the oratory. He was attributed sainthood since 2010, now known as Saint Andre.
