The Bell Centre – Home of the Montreal Canadiens
The Bell Centre is the proud home of Montreal’s beloved NHL team, the Canadiens de Montréal. If you’re lucky enough to be in the city on a game night, don’t miss the chance to experience the electrifying atmosphere—it’s truly something special. Beyond hockey, the Bell Centre also hosts major concerts, live shows, and entertainment events throughout the year, making it one of Montreal’s premier venues.
Equipped with state-of-the-art technology, the Bell Centre replaced the legendary Montreal Forum, the team’s previous home and a historic landmark in its own right. While the Forum lives on in memory, the Bell Centre continues the tradition of excellence and fan passion in a modern setting.
Outside the building, you’ll find statues honoring some of the Canadiens’ greatest legends, including Guy Lafleur, Jean Béliveau, Howie Morenz, and Maurice “Rocket” Richard. These monuments celebrate the rich heritage of one of the oldest and most successful franchises in NHL history. Nearby, the famous “Go Habs Go” motto is etched into stone, alongside the team’s logo and engraved plaques featuring annual team statistics.
Situated between Windsor Station, the Deloitte Tower, and the Bell Centre is Cour Rio Tinto, a public space whose intended purpose remains somewhat unclear, but it adds to the layered urban landscape surrounding the arena.
Some still refer to the Bell Centre by its original name, the Molson Centre, or nostalgically call it “The Forum”—though the actual Forum was located elsewhere and has since been repurposed.
Hockey holds a special place in Montreal’s heart, and demand for Canadiens games is high. If you’re planning to attend, it’s wise to purchase tickets well in advance. The arena boasts an impressive capacity, but nothing quite compares to the energy of a live game in this hockey-loving city.
