Montreal – Church of St.Andrew and St.Paul

3415 Redpath Street

The Fine Arts museum, on the north side of Sherbrooke Street, sits between two beautiful churches.  The one on the east side is now integrated to the museum of Fine Arts, but the one at the west, is the Church of St.Andrew and St.Paul which still welcomes parishioners.

While this church is a 1932 construction, the community started in 1807.

The church is the final result after a few moves of not only one but two Presbyterian churches. Indeed, St.Andrew was the first to be created in 1807, then came St.Paul in 1834. They both faced construction/site challenges that forced them to move and concluded in the joint reinforced community.

The “Quiet Garden” of St. Andrew’s and St. Paul’s, located between the Church and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, is a peaceful space for prayer and meditation. Opened in 2003 as part of a bicentennial project, it is a place for Bible study and post-service gatherings during the summer. The garden is open to the public from June to September, offering visitors a tranquil environment for reflection and peace.
