Tokyo – Shibuya Scramble Crossing

Shibuya

It’s unique to know that a pedestrian crossing can have so much attention, but this intersection provides an access corridor to hundreds of people at the same time, every two minutes. It’s especially impressive to know that all the cars are stopped and the volume of people, which can reach 3,000, crossing in different directions. According to some references, it is said to be the busiest intersection in the world.

Living it and making the crossing is a point. Seeing it from a higher point of view is striking. Everything is done respectfully and without jostling.

At Shibuya station take the Hachiko exit. It is the same exit as for the famous statue of the faithful dog – Hachiko.

On the other hand, a law limiting the sale and consumption of alcohol after 6:00 p.m. around the famous intersection and the neighborhood makes us think that there must have been events.

The intersection, inaugurated in 1973, is also attractive with huge screens that project advertisements.  It is now a reference place for films.
