The sound of waterfalls cascading down steep rock faces evokes a sense of tranquility, while also showcasing the sheer power of nature. Thanks to the financial support of the local small hydroelectric station—which supplies power to nearby communities—the surrounding area has been transformed into Parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, or “Bucket Falls Park.”
Located in Lévis, Quebec, right next to the Pierre Laporte Bridge, the park is easily accessible by car, with its own dedicated highway exit. Both entry to the park and parking are free of charge.
Whether you’re looking for a quick stop or a longer outdoor escape, the park offers something for everyone. You can bring a picnic, breathe in the fresh air, and enjoy the natural surroundings. Well-maintained trails wind through the park, leading visitors to the hydro station and down to the rocky riverbed at the base of the falls—accessible via a staircase.
One of the highlights of the park is a suspended bridge, offering panoramic views of the 35-meter (115-foot) high falls from above. Depending on the season and recent weather conditions, your experience of the falls and their flow may vary, making each visit unique.
